The UK ports industry handles 95% of UK import and export by volume. Despite the large number of ports in the UK, much of the freight traffic is concentrated among a comparatively small percentage, with the top 20 ports accounting for 88% of the total.*

With this level of activity, port environments are complex, with multiple companies and contractors operating within them, carrying out varied activities. Operating 24 hours a day, in all conditions, with the operation of workplace transport in close proximity to pedestrian workers, good safety measures are critical. Ports also have their own road networks, something we are very familiar with, and many drivers may not be familiar with the layout, know where they need to go or how they should get there.

The TWM Central Management Systems (CMS) helps ports and airports with private road networks who wish to remotely access and manage the assets across their site(s) by providing network visibility through a cloud-based solution. This can reduce maintenance and resource costs and improve the efficiency with which staff and visitors move around the site.
